My Equipment

Camera Bodies

Canon EOS 6D

In my mind, the best value in the Canon lineup. Better than a 5D Mark II, less expensive than the Mark III. Among full frame Canon Cameras, this is the one to get.

Canon Rebel XS

My first digital SLR camera, I still carry this one around from time to time. It’s small and light and packs easily...and if it breaks, I’m not heartbroken.

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L

I consider this a “workhorse” lens. Other people may call it a “walkaround” lens. It’s not the best at any one thing, but has a nice focal length range and great image stabilization.

Canon EF 40mm f/2.8

A very underrated lens and probably one of the best values out there. Extremely sharp images, small and light weight.

Canon EF 85mm f/1.8

Also a great value lens. Extremely fast and razor sharp this lens produces fantastic background blur (bokeh) at it’s larger apertures.

Mefoto Carbon Fiber Globe Trotter Tripod

Expensive, but very light and very sturdy tripod. It has a detachable leg to function as a monopod.

Great information! I’ll be adding this to my photog-ucation. One of my goals this year is to be shooting in full manual by the end of year.
